If it's the wrong track they'll sound bad, straight up. In fact that's what I like about them, they're not fast or slow, just right in the right conditions. They're not fast, my FH7s are the fastest and most dynamic set I've ever owned and that includes Variations, Monarch, Mangird Tea etc. I own the Sundaras and the Timeless are a lot better, it's not even close in my mind. Just don't go in thinking they're endgame IEMs, you still have to shell out the big bucks for truly elite sound across the board. Tl Dr For $200 these are a steal, I can't think of any reason other than budget not to buy them. They're like a gifted student, for things that come east to it they excel with a natural ease which is really hard to find, but for the tracks that give them trouble they sort of give up. The best way I can put it is that you're sitting there waiting for them to slip up and they don't. It's not an all rounder but acoustic songs, anything with harmonies or busy tracks like jazz are rendered astonishingly well, it's really beautiful to listen to and presented with an effortless coherence that pulls you in. I'm sure it has to do with the planar technology, but the sound has a seamless, liquid quality to it. You won't get a huge stage like you'd hear on say the FiiO FH7/9, Variations, etc.ĭynamics: Very good, every instrument comes through seamlessly, though the deep bass can overwhelm instruments.īased on my evaluation above it probably sounds like these are just average but they're not. This is one of the most tip dependent sets I've ever tried. Soundstage: Average, though tip rolling changes that for the better or worse. They aren't bad, they just don't stand out and things like cymbal crashes don't strike the way they do on other headphones. Female vocals especially have a quality that seems like they're singing softly right in your ear. It can get annoying on some songs when the bass and lower mids drown out vocals but on well mastered tracks it comes through beautifully. Mids: Recessed but in a good way if you can believe it. Timeless body arts drivers#They're a special headphone with a unique sound that stands on its own despite its flaws.īass: Strong but a little undefined at times and it doesn't have the impact that dynamic drivers have, it's very smooth though. First off, are they the endgame, TOTL beaters some people say they are? No, not at all. So I just got the Timeless and figured I'd share some feelings about them since the hype train is strong on these.
